Biography

Sweta Rai is an Oscar-shortlisted Hollywood producer, director, and actor, known for creating meaningful cinema. Her Hollywood producing journey began with feature films such as Orphan Horse, Surviving the Wild, and JL Family Ranch: The Wedding Gift. She is the Founder & CEO of Indo Holly Films and also serves as an Executive on feature films for Paramount Pictures, bridging independent storytelling with mainstream Hollywood productions. Her documentary feature, A Pandemic: Away from the Motherland, was shortlisted for the Oscar race.
Sweta began her career as a TV newscaster and went on to become a television actress in Indian daily soaps before moving into global media. She later worked with the Discovery Channel in Singapore and represented India in international campaigns for the Singapore Ministry of Defence and other organizations. An MBA graduate and an MFA in Producing from the American Film Institute (AFI), she brings both creative and business expertise to every project she undertakes.
A trained Indian classical singer, avid traveler, and committed humanitarian, she continues to use cinema as a powerful platform to spotlight global social issues while expanding her creative journey both behind and in front of the camera.
